There's more good news today for the Ark-La-Tex economy.  A Texas-based steel manufacturing company is opening additional jobs at its Bossier City operation.

Sabre Industries is investing $1.6 million in their existing plant located on Hazel Jones Road just off of Shed Road.  The resulting expansion will enable the company to produce steel fabricated poles to replace outdated wooden ones.

Louisiana Economic Development (LED), a part of the governor's office, helped enable the expansion by providing Sabre with incentives.  Those incentives include giving Sabre access to LED's workforce training program called FastStart.  In addition the company will be using Louisiana's quality jobs and industrial tax exemption programs.

It is believed the project will create 50 new jobs that will result in the creation of at least 10 indirect jobs, according to the Shreveport Times.  The average starting salary for those jobs will be around $47,000.
