The Iconic Cub Restaurant Is Closing

Some bad news today. The iconic and legendary Cub Restaurant near Youree and Kings has closed. If only the walls in that place could talk.

Owner Roger Wilbanks posted the bad news on the restaurant's Facebook page.

KEEL News just got this quote from the owners of the Cut Lounge:

The current owner of the restaurant is retiring and closing it as it currently is The Lounge is still open and the restaurant will return next week under new management.

The restaurant has been open for 30 years, but the The Cub Lounge has been in business since 1939. We have been told the lounge will remain open the entire time.

Many locals will tell you they love many of the offerings at the Cub including the steaks and the augratin potatoes. I was always a fan of that big burrito they served. It was so much food at a great price.

KEEL News has learned The Cub Lounge has had separate owners for a while and will remain open, but the restaurant has already closed. We will have to wait and see how much will be changing at the restaurant.
