Every week, we wonder over and check out the regional Soundscan data from the Shreveport/Bossier/Texarkana.

What is Soundscan data? I'm glad you asked.

It's basically the Shreveport Rock Album charts. The data is gathered a little differently than it was 20 years ago, since not everyone goes out and buys a physical CD or LP anymore. Here's how it goes...

The data is gathered through the following method (according to Nielsen SoundScan):
Rankings are based on a formula blending pure album sales, track equivalent album sales (TEA), and streaming equivalent album plays (SEA).

Now mixed in with all of the Rock albums, are pop, rap, country, folk, and everything else that is sold in the area. So we have taken the time to pull out JUST the rock data for you.

Here are the Top 5 Rock Albums sold in the Ark-La-Tex for the week ending 3/17/16:

  1. Robert Plant "Lullaby & Ceaseless Roar"
  2. 3 Doors Down "Us And The Night"
  3. Killswitch Engage "Incarnate"
