Every week, we wonder over and check out the regional Soundscan data from the Shreveport/Bossier/Texarkana. Now this week's timeline was knocked off a bit by the holiday, but the data all remains the same.

Which brings us to the date, what is Soundscan data? Don't worry, we cover this every week...It’s basically the Shreveport Rock Album charts. The data is gathered a little differently than it was decades ago, since not everyone goes out and buys a physical CD or LP anymore. Here’s how it goes…

The data is gathered through the following method (according to Nielsen SoundScan):
Rankings are based on a formula blending pure album sales, track equivalent album sales (TEA), and streaming equivalent album plays (SEA).

Now mixed in with all of the Rock albums, are pop, rap, country, folk, and everything else that is sold in the area. So we have taken the time to pull out JUST the rock data for you.

Here are the Top 5 Rock Albums sold in the Ark-La-Tex for the week ending 3/24/16:

  1. Shinedown "Threat To Survival"
  2. Disturbed “Immortalized”
  3. Killswitch Engage “Incarnate”
  4. 3 Doors Down "Us And The Night"
  5. Panic! At The Disco “Death Of A Bachelor”
