First off, I’ve got to thank my friend Doug Warner at KSLA TV 12 for alerting us all to this still developing story. If it had not been for him we might not know about the recent threats of gun violence made on social media’s “Snapchat” at Airline High School in Bossier City.

From what we’ve learned, authorities are investigating the threats and patrols by Bossier City Police and the Bossier Sheriff’s Department have increased in the area of Airline High School.

Again, according to the story originally posted on KSLA, in the accompanying video,  we learn that scores of parents are on high alert since learning of the threat; some even going to so far as to keep their kids out of school for a couple of days.  We also learn that the Bossier Parish School Board was alerted to the threats and released this statement.

“The Bossier Parish Sheriff’s Office and Bossier City Police determined early in the investigation the social media post referencing Airline High School was made from an account under an assumed name. This remains an active investigation and law enforcement is working diligently to track down the culprit.
“Bossier Schools takes all threats seriously, whether perceived as credible or not, but at this point in the investigation there is no evidence this threat is valid.
“We understand parents are concerned, and rest assured student safety is our number one priority, which is why extra security measures have been taken and additional law enforcement has been present on and around campus so the school day is not disrupted.”

At this time, no arrests have been made.
