Detectives with the Shreveport Police Department’s Property Crimes Unit have arrested a man believed to be responsible for committing multiple business burglaries in the Cedar Grove neighborhood.

On October 1, 2020, Shreveport Police Patrol Officers responded to a business break-in and burglary in the 2900 block of West 70th. Arriving officers found that the business had been forcibly entered by destroying the exterior wall. Once inside, the suspects took cigarettes and an undisclosed amount of money from the location.

Detectives were assigned to follow up and through their ongoing investigation; they recovered evidence to include video of the incident. That video was disseminated to local media partners and Shreveport Caddo Crime Stoppers. Shortly after the video was made public, detectives received a tip from Crime Stoppers, which helped them to identify Christopher Boykin (07/18/91) as one of the suspects involved in the burglaries. Upon arrest, Boykin was also found to be in possession of a firearm.

Following interviews with detectives, Boykin was charged with three counts of Simple Burglary and one count of Convicted Felon in Possession of a Firearm.

Detectives are still searching for the others responsible for these crimes and are asking anyone with information to contact them at 318-673-7300 #3 or 318-673-6955. Those wishing to remain anonymous should contact Crime Stoppers at 318-673-7373 or via their app, P3Tips.
