Saturday, June 19th a Minden Police Officer attempted to stop a vehicle for a traffic violation on Main Street in Minden. The vehicle was occupied by a white male and female passenger.
The Minden Officer turned the lights of the police car on and the vehicle refused to stop. The chase continued to the outskirts of Minden where the speeds exceeded 100miles per hour.
The female passenger exited the vehicle on Methodist Camp Road and jumped in to Caney Lake where she began swimming away from officers. A Minden Officer was able to jump in and swim after her, then apprehended the female after dragging her to shore.
The male continued to drive away from officers until he wrecked on a Parish road. He ran through the woods to evade arrest, and was caught a short time later by Webster Parish Deputies.
From the Minden Police:
The male driver was arrested for aggravated flight, obstructed tail lights, switched tags, suspended drivers license, no registration, no insurance, no inspection sticker and booked into BDCC. The female passenger was charged with resisting by flight.
