No Louisiana cities show up anywhere near the top of vegan friendly cities. But a couple do make the top 100 on this Wallethub list.

The best city for vegans or vegetarians is Portland, Oregon. Orlando, Los Angeles, Phoenix, and Austin are in the top 5. New Orleans checks in at #71 while Baton Rouge is #76 on the list.

Several Texas cities make the list of vegan friendly communities. Of course Austin is one of the best in the nation, but El Paso, Plano and Houston are all in the top 25.
San Antonio is at #31. Dallas is #36. Irving is #38. Lubbock is #39 while Corpus Christi is #41. Laredo checks in at #45 on this list. Garland is #68. Arlington is 78 while Fort Worth makes the list at #83.

This report also has some great information about towns that have restaurants serving vegetarian options. Topping the list this year is Plano, Texas. The report says this Dallas suburb "has the highest share of restaurants serving vegetarian options, 63.65 percent, which is 21.6 times higher than in Laredo, Texas, the city with the lowest at 2.95 percent."

Shreveport Bossier has a few good spots for salads, but not too many. In this report,
Atlanta has the most salad shops per capita.
