Voting Today – What You Need To Bring, What You Need To Know
If you've already done early voting congratulations to you. Thank you for taking your obligation as a citizen of these United States so responsibly. For the rest of us that haven't pulled the curtain and the levers, here are some things you'll probably want to know.
Where do you vote? A simple click on the Secretary of State's Voter Portal will have that information and more for you. Simply provide your name, zip code, and date of birth and you can find out the answers to a myriad of questions.
What is on my ballot? You'll find this information through the same portal we referenced above. Again, simply input your name, zip code, and date of birth and then make your selection to see a sample ballot. The ballot you see will be an accurate reflection of the races, issues, propositions, and ordinances that are on the ballot and specific to where you live.
Where can I see the results? If you don't care to listen to your favorite radio station or watch breaking news coverage on television you can get the results for specific races by following the Voter Portal link that we have set up for you.
The polls are open across the state from 6 AM until 8 PM. In order to vote, you must be registered. You will also need to bring a valid state or federally issued photo I.D. If you don't have either of those documents you can still vote but it will require a signature on a voter affidavit.
If you have comments, questions, or concerns, about your voting experience you will need to contact your Parish Registrar of Voters Office. Each of those offices will be open today from 6 AM until 9 PM.
