Walton of Walton and Johnson Has Died

It is with a heavy heart that I bring to you the news of John Walton of Walton & Johnson's death.  Walton was half of the beloved morning show on Highway 98.9.  He passed away at approximately 11:55 pm on July 1, 2019.  Walton was at home to spend his last moments with friends and family.  The longtime radio icon had been battling multiple illnesses for some time.

The radio legend had been working with his longtime partner Johnson since 1983, but had been behind the mic for much longer.  His career started in Oklahoma as a weekend, midnight shift DJ in the early 70's.

According to the statement from his longtime partner Steve Johnson:

The show will return as soon as possible."
