Sure, it's still summer, but it's never too early for rockers and metalheads to get excited over Halloween! With Season 3 of the supernatural-themed series Salem set to launch just after the night of frights on Thursday, Nov. 3 on WGN America, the fervor over the holiday has only heightened, especially with shock rocker Marilyn Manson now in the fold as a recurring character.

Salem is centered around the infamous Salem witch trials from the 17th century and Manson has been cast in the role of Thomas Dinley, a barber / surgeon (a joint profession in the time period). Fans can get a sneak peak of what's to come in the slightly disturbing video trailer above, which may not be for the squeamish. "Most of us die as we are born — in agony," says a short-haired Manson while running his fingers over a female corpse littered in puncture wounds before plucking a leech of her face and devouring the bloodsucker.

“My character ends up being something that could be called the devil’s advocate or the devil’s best friend,” the singer / actor told EW, adding, “He has no moral balance,” when referring to his character. Drawing a parallel to his own life, Manson went on, “The place where Dinley operates his business is not dissimilar to my home. I collect a lot of the medical devices.”

In July, the singer revealed that his next album will be titled Say10 and will be released on Valentine's Day (Feb. 14) of 2017. The record will serve as the follow-up to the well-received Born Villain, which came in at No. 2 on our 20 Best Albums of 2015 list.

Manson is currently on a co-headlining tour with Slipknot, rounded out by openers Of Mice & Men. See a full list of remaining dates at our 2016 Guide to Rock + Metal Tours.
