Webster Parish Man Dies in Two-Vehicle Accident

Thursday morning (7/15/21) just after 9:00a.m. Louisiana State Troopers were called to investigate the scene of a two-vehicle accident. The accident took place U.S. Highway 371, near Woodmill Road. Upon investigation Troopers found that the crash had lead to a fatality.

The vehicles involved in the accident were a 2019 Dodge Ram pickup truck travelling northbound on 371 and a 2000 Ford pickup was travelling southbound. The Ram tried to pass a vehicle in front of it which resulted in a head-on collision with the Ford. The Ram then, ran off the road and became engulfed in flames.

As a result of the accident, the driver of the Ram suffered fatal injuries. The driver has yet to be identified by the Webster Parish Coroner’s Office.

Troopers urge motorists to exercise caution when passing.  Never overtake another vehicle, when it is not permitted.  Always be sure there is enough distance to perform the passing maneuver and merge back into your travel lane.
