You Can't Imagine How Much Food We Eat

According to mashed.com, Super Bowl fans woof down an astonishing 11.2 million pounds of chips each year during the game.  And that's not even at the top of our dining choice for the game. On average Americans will consume 12.5 million pizzas on game day.

News.un.org reports that chicken wing sales go through the roof on Super Bowl Sunday when we eat 1.3 billion wings and chase them down with almost 900 million pints of beer.

Some Will Win BIG On The Game. Others Will Lose BIG

This year will also be a mammoth for the gambling industry, thanks to the many states that have legalized mobile sports betting.  Marketwatch.com says the American Gaming Association is expecting there to be an estimated $7.61 billion bet on this single game alone.

In Spite Of All The Hype, Apparently Louisiana Just Doesn't Care This Year

However, all of this is apparently falling on deaf ears in the state of Louisiana.  In a study of Google searches conducted by mibets.com, Louisiana showed the least amount of any state in terms of anticipation of this Sunday's game.  Next in line for caring the least was Mississippi, followed by Kentucky, Alabama and West Virginia.

The research also showed the state looking forward to the Super Bowl the most was Kansas (maybe the research was conducted before the Chiefs lost the conference title).  Next in line to be super excited about the game was Colorado, Missouri and then Nebraska.

Though Louisiana apparently couldn't care less about the game, it's reported that the majority of Louisiana's sports fans who are excited about it are pulling for Joe Burrow and the Cincinnati Bengals.  In fact, in an article from theadvertiser.com, the single-largest legal mobile sports bet in history, according to Caesars, was recently placed in Louisiana, with the wager totaling more than $4.5 million.

Houston's Jim "Mattress Mack" McIngvale — the owner of the Texas Gallery Furniture stores — traveled across the border into Louisiana to place a $4,534,000 bet with the Caesars Sportsbook app on the Cincinnati Bengals winning it all

Looks like the main takeaway from this is that unless the Cowboys or Saints are in the game, Louisiana really isn't too excited about it.  But, those who are interested will apparently be rooting for Joe Burrow and the Bengals.  Especially a Mattress guy from Houston!
