Animania Becomes Shreveport/Bossier’s Premier Anime Event

We're just about a month away from kicking off the Shreveport/Bossier area's PREMIER Anime event, 2nd & Charles Animania. The event will be the first weekend in March, taking place at 2nd & Charles Airline Dr. location in Bossier City.

It will feature contests, cosplay, and anime voice actor guests. Here's what 2nd & Charles says you can expect:

"The 2nd annual Animania aims to be even bigger and better than last year's with BIGGER PRIZES, SPECIAL GUESTS, MORE ENTERTAINMENT, and even MORE TO BE ANNOUNCED!!!

Animania will be held March 5th from 10am-7pm. This is an event focused towards the fandom of Japanese animation and the surrounding culture as well as general geek culture and will include attractions such as....

COSPLAY CONTEST
-Cosplay is heavily incouraged at this event. So much so we will be holding a cosplay contest with even better prizes this year for FIRST, SECOND, and THIRD PLACES!
--Cosplay is not restricted to only anime genres. You may dress as your favorite characters from comics, tv shows, movies, ect! We want to see them all!

ANIME STREAMING
-Current popular anime will be shown live for your entertainment! Do you have a favorite show you would like seen? Comment on our event page so we know what the public wants!

SUPER SMASH BROTHERS TOURNAMENT (wii u)
-Ofcoarse we will have one of the fan favorite tournaments! Also with bigger and better prizes this year!

AMV CONTEST
-This will be our first ever Anime Music Video contest and we are VERY excited to see some amazing entries. There will be amazing prizes available to the winner!
--ALL entries must be made BEFORE February 26th and delivered in person to the store location in the form of a usb drive, sd card, or dvd format. All entries must be rated PG13 or lower.

CLASSIC ANIME TRIVIA!
-Inuyasha, DBZ, Sailor Moon, and Naruto with perhaps an appearance of some of your favorite classic animes!

JAPANESE STYLE FOOD!
-Deluxe Ramen, Rice-balls, and Meat Buns made fresh at the store for you! Hot dogs and chips will also be available!"

This event is going to be a BLAST! If you enjoyed Geek'd Con last year, this will be right up your alley. The best part? It's happening AT 2nd & Charles, so you can come check it out, and even if you're not sucked into the action right away, you can still browse thousands of comic books, video games, and vinyl! There is literally something for everyone.
