Shreveport Woman, Juvenile Charged with Theft

A Shreveport woman and a juvenile face charges in connection with the theft of items from the front porch of a South Highlands residence this morning.

Just after 8:30 a.m., patrol officers were called to a home in the 700 block of Monrovia Street, where they learned a woman driving a black SUV had pulled in front of the residence. A juvenile female got out of the vehicle, walked up to the home's front door, and took a package belonging to the resident. The SUV then drove away from the scene.

What the pair didn't know is that their actions were caught on surveillance video, which made it easy for police to identify them and track them down. Officers caught up with 33-year-old Cassie Jordan and a 13-year-old, who are both charged with theft. Jordan also faces contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile.

The package and its contents were returned to the homeowner.
