Faithful maggots who have been pining away for new Slipknot since the release of ‘All Hope Is Gone’ way back in 2008 are going to have to keep waiting for awhile, because the band has no plans to record. But fans in the US can take heart knowing that there’s an American tour on the horizon for next year, according to drummer Shawn ‘Clown’ Crahan.

With new music to preview and two relatively new members in the band, the Smashing Pumpkins are scheduled to begin a 12-date U.S. tour in Los Angeles on Oct. 5. The dozen concert dates are being described as a warmup to a big year of touring in 2012, which is when the Pumpkins will release their in-progress studio album, ‘Oceania.’

As I'm sure aware by now, Seattle's purveyors of Sonic Destruction are back - with a few reunion shows last year, a new album in the works (due out in 2012), and a new tour that kicked off Saturday night in Toronto (Soundgarden headlines the Voodoo Music Experience in New Orleans on Halloween weekend).

The Foo Fighters are touring in Europe at the moment, and Saturday night the tour stopped at the Milton Keynes Bowl in the U.K.
