‘Archer: Dreamland’ Won’t Let You Sleep Through Six New Trailers
One wonders if Archer Season 8 will actually take time to spell out the nature of its Dreamland makeover, but a flurry of new trailers should also help do the trick. Probe the noir world of Season 8 a little more deeply with not one, but six new trailers for the April premiere, including some fresh looks at characters we haven’t seen much of yet.
In addition to the extended first trailer teasing Archer’s Season 8 move to FXX, the network came forward with an additional six promo spots from within the new noir world. It seems Cheryl (Carol?) will play a crucial part as one of Archer’s major cases, while Krieger may have made a brutish new friend.
Now set for an April 5 premiere on FXX (not FX), so reads the Dreamland synopsis:
Archer is an animated, half-hour comedy that revolves around the hardboiled private eye Sterling Archer and his quest to find his partner’s killer in 1947 Los Angeles. The case proves to be more difficult than expected after Archer quickly gets mixed up in a deadly game of tug of war between Los Angeles’ most powerful crime bosses. Every clue leads Archer further away from his goal and deeper into a mystery involving kidnapping, prostitution and drug addiction.
Co-creator Matt Thompson explained at New York Comic-Con last year that Woodhouse is the partner in question, as a tribute to voice actor George Coe. Coe passed away in 2015, leaving the character largely absent from the series since.
Archer has also been renewed through Season 10 (with the possibility to conclude there), but stay tuned by checking out the first trailer below.
