The greatest New Orleans Saint of all time has agreed to a new deal with the franchise. Quarterback Drew Brees has signed a 2-year deal with the Saints, according to Ian Rapoport:

The deal will likely be the final of Brees' career, keeping him in New Orleans until his retirement.

As Rapoport mentioned, Brees took less money than he could have brought in on the open market, in an effort to help the Saints financially. The idea being that the Saints will be able to acquire more free agents, or better free agents, with the salary cap room Brees' deal gives them.

Brees signed a similar deal a few years ago, one that was set up to help the team with the salary cap. But as ESPN NFL reporter Mike Triplett pointed out, this new deal is even more friendly to the team, as far as inflation goes:
