We've all seen the family photos of everyone wearing khaki and white on a beach vacation... but if you want a family photo taken here in Shreveport, where there is no white sandy beach with the ocean in the background, where do you go?

I know the R.W. Norton Art Gallery is what comes to mind for me first. It's absolutely gorgeous, especially when all of the azaleas are in bloom, but from what I understand, they're not fans of folks taking over their grounds just for a place to stage a photo and you'll need a permit. There's also the Gardens of the American Rose Center and the gorgeous tree-lined walkway on the campus of LSU Shreveport. But where else can you go? That's what Reddit user persimmon41 asked on the local Shreveport page, garnering some great suggestions! Here are a few that other local Reddit users came up with:

Yes, there used to be some great places by the old Barnwell Center downtown, too!

I'm so glad to hear that C. Bickham Dickson Park is back open as a part of the Red River National Wildlife Refuge. I have great memories of horseback riding there as a child.

So where do you suggest one should go to stage a family photo shoot? I know there are some beautiful spots at our other local parks and wildlife refuges. If you have a great idea, we'd love to hear from you. Shoot me an email at erin.bristol@townsquaremedia.com or shoot me a message via the app 'chat' function. Maybe we'll all get our family photos done this year in time to send in our Christmas cards!

UPDATE:
Thank you to everyone who has reached out with ideas so far! So far, we've got the following: Lake Bistineau State Park, Provenance subdivision, the bridge in front of the Hughes house in Benton, and Ford Park.
