Good News, Bad News On Louisiana Taxes
Sometimes it seems like our fine state never met a tax it didn't like. And with the next session of the Legislature starting on Monday, lawmakers will propose legislation for a steep new gasoline tax to help fix our crumbling roads and bridges.
The good news is, according to a new WalletHub study, Louisiana ranks 29th in the U.S. in state tax burden.
The bad news is when you combine state and local sales tax rates, Louisiana ranks the highest at 9.99 percent.
