Earlier this month, a vehicle was stolen in front of a business in the 7700 block of Pines Road.  The brazen thieves made off with the vehicle and drove it more than 250 miles away before abandoning it in Baton Rouge.  Authorities were at a loss for leads until some new evidence surfaced that may help identify the criminals responsible for this theft.  Newly released surveillance video clearly shows the thieves face and what they were wearing on the day of the crime.

Shreveport-Caddo Crimestoppers would love your help in bringing these criminals to justice, and are offering a cash reward for information that leads to the arrest of the individuals responsible in this crime.  If you can help, call 318-673-7373 or visit lockemup.org.

One of the biggest takeaways from this story is this: Lock your car.  According to the report from KSLA, the stolen vehicle at the center of this crime was unsecured when it was stolen.  Statistics show that 1 in 6 cars stolen are unlocked with the keys in them.  Properly securing your vehicle won't necessarily stop car thieves, but it will sure make their job harder (and make filing your insurance a whole lot easier if you do get robbed).
