Another Abandoned Home in Highland Area Burns Down in Shreveport
Shreveport Fighters responded to the 1100 Block of Sheridan for a reported house fire in the Highland District. The call was received by Caddo 911 at 12:08 A.M. The first-due in unit Engine 7 arrived at 12:12 a.m. and reported a two-story wood frame residential structure engulfed in flames.
The first-due in officer immediately upgraded the situation to a two-alarm response and called for a defensive fire attack. Fire command placed two 100 foot aerial trucks into operations to fight this massive fire.
The home was a total loss. The origin and cause of the fire are under investigation by Shreveport Fire Investigators. No citizens or fire fighters were injured, and it took 18- Fire Units and 46- Fire Fighters 41 minutes to bring the fire under control
