See the Massive Fire Destroy 2 Homes in Highland Neighborhood
A massive fire in the Highland neighborhood lit up the sky on Tuesday morning.
The blaze started just before 6am in the 400 block of Jordan Street. The first crew pulled up about 3 minutes later, but found little to no water pressure to fight the blaze. 5 tanker trucks filled with water from South Louisiana have been on standby to help fight fires in our community and all five were used to battle this massive blaze.
Both homes were totally engulfed in flames. Both of the structures were vacant with not utilities turned on. Because of that, Chief Scott Wolverton tells KEEL News the fire is very suspicious and investigators are on the scene trying to find out what sparked the blaze.
Throughout the morning, 75 firefighters battled this massive blaze. A total of 25 fire units were on hand, including the tankers of water.
Crews from St. Tammany Parish, West Feliciana Parish Fire Protection, and Bunkie Fire Department were on the scene to assist, according to Shreveport Fire Department Chief Scott Wolverton.
