Every year Townsquare Media Shreveport teams up with Operation Santa Claus and Graf Orthodontics to make Christmas happen for all the good boys and girls in our community.

For many families, Operation Santa Claus is the only way they wake up to presents under the Christmas tree. That's why you've seen Shreveport Fire and Shreveport hitting the streets collecting new unwrapped toys all over our community.

According to the Shreveport Police website "Operation Santa Claus is a multi-agency, non-profit organization made up of law enforcement volunteers who sign up needy children to receive toys for Christmas. Operation Santa Claus is an officer-referred program. Once officers submit the names of deserving children, volunteers find the toys the children request, wrap them, and give them to the officers to deliver to those children in time for Christmas."

Shreveport Fire and Shreveport Police took a break from collecting toys to break some kids out. Where did they go? To Shriners of course. Several kids who are patients at Shriners got a visit from Shreveport Police with a brand new toy in hand for them.

Calvin Baker with Operation Santa Claus said "Shriners is one of our favorite places to visit. We love seeing children's eyes light up in our community. We bring toys and snow and provide a day for kids to take a break from the inside of the hospital. It brings us so much joy to see children in our community have a day where all they focus on is having fun."
