How to Watch the Shreveport Mayoral Debate Tonight
The Shreveport Mayor's race has gone from 10 candidates down to 2. And those 2 will square off tonight in the first debate that will be held at LSUS. Shreveport attorney and former city councilman, Republican Tom Arceneaux faces off with Democrat State Senator Gregory Tarver for the city's top job.

The debate is being sponsored by the Greater Shreveport Chamber of Commerce, KTAL-TV, KTBS-TV, LSUS's public radio, Red River Radio, Alpha Kappa Sorority, and Rhino Coffee. It is scheduled as a one hour debate that will be moderated by Red River Radio, with journalists from KTBS-TV & KTAL-TV asking the candidates questions.
Runoff Election
The runoff election will be Saturday December 10th. Turnout is expected to be low, which could benefit the Republican candidate, Tom Arceneaux. In the primary, Arceneaux finished on top of the field with 28 percent of the vote. Greg Tarver was second with 24 percent.
Endorsements
Former Shreveport Democrat mayor Ollie Tyler has come out in support of the Republican candidate Arceneaux, while former mayor Keith Hightower has planted his flag in the Tarver camp. None of the other eight candidates have officially endorsed either of the two candidates in the runoff.
