Yes, it's cold.  It's as cold here today as it is in parts of Alaska.  So, you have a decision to make.  You can give into this bitter winter weather and camp out on the couch today, or you can get out and enjoy it!

If you're opting for that latter option, but you are stumped for ideas on what to do this weekend, you could literally spend all day today at the Louisiana State Fairgrounds and never miss a beat!

Of course, in advance of this afternoon's 2:00 pm kickoff of the Independence Bowl featuring the University of Louisiana Lafayette and the University of Houston, there will be scores of people tailgating in the parking lot of Independence Stadium, so you could start the day that way.

Then, of course, the game will begin at 2:00 pm and probably won't be over until around 5:30 or 6:00 pm.

After that though, you can make your way over to George's Pond at Hirsch Coliseum and take in some ice skating!

Courtesy of the Shreveport Mudbugs, again tonight from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm you can spend the evening ice skating for only $10 admission. If you need to rent skates, you can get those for only $5.

Then, tomorrow, Christmas Eve, they'll do it all over again from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm at George's Pond at Hirsch Coliseum and if you dress up in your best holiday attire Saturday, you get your skate rental absolutely free!
