License Free Fishing This Weekend In Louisiana

You would be hard pressed to find a better way to bond with your son our daughter than fishing.   It's got all of the elements - long awkward pauses, the possibility of skewering yourself or your loved one, and the slightest chance that you could maybe bring home a fish!

This weekend, that bonding is even better - it's free!  June 10th and 11th is the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries annual Free Fishing Weekend.  You will need your own fishing rod and bait, but you will not need a fishing license.  You will need to respect all of the Louisiana fishing regulations - including size, season, catch limits and gear restrictions as they are in full effect.

Outside of this weekend, everyone over the age of 16 will need a fishing license to hit the water with their angling skills.  It's the perfect excuse to hit the water with your kid(s) this weekend.  For more information on fishing regulations in Louisiana, click the button below.
