Grant Nuckolls and Andrew Crawford, new owners Shreveport's Jacqueline's Cafe, talk with 101.7 710 KEEL's Robert J Wright and Erin McCarty about their latest undertaking and why they believe in Shreveport as good place to own a business.

Nuckolls and Crawford, who own Twisted Root and Rhino Coffee, respectively, tell KEEL listeners that "it's been really heartwarming and fun to see" since they announced their plan to take over the legendary Shreveport eatery. "Their regulars have been going there for ten or twenty years and they were absolutely freaking out when they learned that Jacqueline's was closing." Nuckolls adds that they were approached by the restaurant's faithful urging them to look into save the Louisiana Avenue spot.

And explaining their decision to take on another investment in a city with a flagging economy: "In a city that needs a cultural resurgence, do you wait for a big business to come and save the city and culture spawns from that, or do the young people...pick themselves up and say, 'We're going to bring the culture back and hope the business follows.'"
