Dale Sibley, recently approved by the Caddo Parish Commission as the new Registrar of Voters, talks with 101.7 / 710 KEEL's Robert J Wright and Erin McCarty about his new job and soon-to-begin early voting for the November 16 run-off election.

Sibley, who served as the city's Chief Administrative Officer under Mayor Cedric Glover, tells KEEL listeners that, despite high early voting numbers in recent elections, he doesn't expect that high turnout to continue. "The October 12 election, we ran some record numbers through towards the latter part of that week. But we really don't expect as much in terms of early voting and absentee voting for this upcoming November election, because of the number of positions on the ballot."

Sibley also addresses the possibility of "satellite" locations for early voters, now restricted to one location at the Registrar's office. But he says that parishes are restricted to a single "satellite" voting location - outside the Registrar's office - by state law.
