Shreveport Man Arrested for Slapping Police Horse
For the last time, police horses are police officers - at least when it comes to the law. If you assault one, you will be arrested and jailed for assaulting a police officer. That's the kind of advice Shreveport resident Dontaveous Washington could have used earlier this week.
According to the Ark-La-Tex Hompage, the 22 year old was having a grand old time in the downtown Shreveport area near Texas street and Spring street. That's when he approached several SPD officers on horseback patrolling the area and got a little too close for comfort. Despite numerous verbal warning from the mounted officers not to approach the horses out of fear he would startle them, the seemingly inebriated Washington stepped up and started slapping them on their hindquarters.
Dontaveous was arrested immediately and taken to the Shreveport City Jail on charges of Public Drunkeness and Battery of a Police Officer.
