WWE's NXT brand is coming to Shreveport this week, and it's going to be historic.

Shreveport is one of the greatest pro wrestling towns in history. Mid-South Wrestling (part of the UWF and NWA) made Shreveport their second home through the 70s and 80s. With Hall of Fame guys like Dusty Rhodes, Jake "The Snake" Roberts, The Fabulous Freebirds, "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan, Junkyard Dog, and more all winning titles in Shreveport.

Mid-South used to send Jim Ross to a Shreveport TV studio to cut all of their promos for the territory. Wrestlers would drive in for the day to cut their promos, then come back on the weekend for a TV match.

Now, NXT will be coming to one of Shreveport's most iconic venues, the Shreveport Municipal Auditorium, to continue this proud wrestling tradition.

NXT started out as WWE's minor leagues. It was a brand where young pro wrestlers could learn the sport without the bright lights of the WWE ring. Young talent would use their experience to vault themselves into superstar status.

But last year, WWE moved the whole NXT brand to the big leagues when they added NXT to national, weekly TV. NXT is now featured on Wednesday nights on the USA Network.

Now that NXT is no longer "minor leagues" some of pro wrestling's biggest names have made it their home; including the first ever WWE Universal Champion, Finn Balor, NXT Champion, and international pro wrestling superstar Adam Cole. and former UFC women's fighter Shayna Baszler. Balor and Cole have been announced to appear in Shreveport, and there's a good chance Baszler will also appear.

This is going to be a historic night in Shreveport, and you can be a part of it!
