MMA Fighter Wins Using ‘Walls of Jericho’ Submission
Pro wrestling gets an unfair wrap from a lot people. Some folks complain that it's fake and doesn't look real. Then you lay out the reason why pro wrestling is awesome and the come back is always the same...'if wrestling moves were so devastating, real fighters would use them.'
Well, actually some of them do. Pro wrestling styled suplex have occasionally been used MMA fights over the years. But, if that's not good enough for you, I can do one better.
Over the weekend, British MMA fighter Jonno Mears used the 'Walls of Jericho' to tap an opponent.
Mears, speaking to MMA Fighting explained how he decided to go for the Walls of Jericho/Boston Crab.
“When I took him down, he turned to all fours quick, but I managed to chin strap him and was going to try the Peruvian necktie, but he tucked his chin, so I jumped to his back, then the crab came into my head. Then, during the scramble, I was going to turn into mount and give it up, but I seen he covered up during me striking him, so I thought why not I just try? And I was shocked myself I got a hold of his legs in a scramble.”
Mears made the List of Jericho...for a positive reason:
Maybe CM Punk should try to use the Anaconda Vise during his next MMA match up. He might actually pick up a win!
