Former NXT Star Returning to WWE in 2017
Former NXT star, CM Punk arch-rival and indy darling Chris Hero is reportedly returning to the WWE in 2017. Pro wrestling and MMA insider Dave Meltzer is reporting that Hero is reporting to the company in 2017 but it is unknown if he will be on the main roster or in NXT.
Hero signed a contract with WWE in 2012 and he joined Florida Championship Wrestling under the name Kassius Ohno. He then became a part of the NXT roster when developmental was rebranded.
Chris Hero was released in November of 2013, and shortly after his release reports started to circulate claiming that there was a disconnect between him and the office because he wasn’t dedicated to the physical conditioning programs.
It should also be noted that WWE is currently in signing mode and it is being reported that the King of Old School Steve Corino is heading to WWE in 2017 and that the WWE has their eye on several big named stars from NJPW and Ring of Honor.
